Hi all,I have not been following this thread lately, but it is good to have it back(topper)! JoAnn: I too, loved the Luxor! I love the rooms, they look spectacular! It was very difficult to cancel the reservation there! Should or should I not??!! Luigi, and JoAnn, I am also having a crisis of confidence concerning hotel Choices, but I think time will take care of this problem for me...the good rooms are going fast, it seems. Must be something going on mid Sept. does anybody know? I thought in mid Sept, Rome would be just for me(sigh)!!!Oh well, I guess I can share> Charley: Mozart seems nice did you get the guidebook? Let us know what you pick, ok?

Thanks for your comments everyone. I have confirmed with the Mozart that we have a room with a terrace and I am going to just stick with it. I went to a book signing last week with Alan Epstein (author of "As the Romans Do") when he was in LA. I spoke to his wife about the Mozart, as they put their tour groups up there, and she confirmed it was a very charming hotel.

Soooo, I will keep you all posted when I get back. That won't be until early November, however, so I don't know if it will do you any good, Joann. I will post anyway, as it may help someone along the way. I will go check out the Santa Chiara and Albergo Cesari for all of our future reference while there.

By the way, if anyone wants to read a very good description of life in Rome, Alan's book was extremely entertaining and paints a realistic portrait of life for expats in Rome.

Ciao a presto...
