Dinner rec's
I've read many of your Paris restaurant recommendations. This year I will again be in Paris for America's Thanksgiving holiday, darn. I am planning ahead and have thought to take (normally I only return with) a bottle or two of very good wine from the area in the US where I live, hoping to share with particularly hospitable Parisians. So, my question is a bit different; Can you suggest a Paris restaurant(s) informal enough and operated by an individual or individuals who would enjoy sharing a bottle or two of good US wine? Never do I return from Paris without wishing I could lug more wine home, drink more, eat more...just a twist on my normal November sojourn.

Hi<BR>I honestly have never seen a restaurant in Paris where they have byob.<BR>Unlike some places in the US where liquor licenses have to be applied for and are not always, in France and other European countries, wine and food are provided together without saying.<BR><BR>I suppose in some of the top 5-star places, regular mogul clients might want to to bring in their own<BR>1952 Chateau Whatsit and then be charged ony a corkage fee, but in casual places where a greater part of their smaller income depends on the wine they sell, I think it would be very unusual, and perhaps not even welcome.<BR><BR>There is (was) a restaurant in Paris, run by an American called Thanksgiving.<BR>20 rue Saint-Paul, in the 4th.<BR>I had the phone number as 01 42 77 68 29<BR>Anyone know if it's still there? They featured American-style groceries and restaurant foods that were quite popular with the locals as well. You might try there.
