Details please on Prague to Kutna Hora

Is it possible to go to KH in the early morning and see a few sites and be able to return to Prague by 4:30 PM? If it is, where and how do we buy a train ticket to do so? Thanks!

yes dead easy,
you can get a train from Halavni Nadrodni to Kutna Hora takes about an hour and run pretty regular.there is a local train that takes you right into the town from the main station ( i have never used that),but if you want to go to the Bone Church at Sedlac it is a 900 meter walk from the train station.the main town is a further 2 kilometers from the Bone church, you can walk or take one of the local buses.

fares are very cheap ,I have visited there twice by train and last time (may 2007) it was about 120czk return.

ww.idos.cz for train times and info.

I can give you more specifc instruction of getting to the bone church if you decide to walk, just ask.

Unclegus, We will probably walk from the bone church to town. We just have to make sure to get back to Prague Train Station by around 4 or 4:30 PM to catch our bus home.
Do you have any restaurants you recommend?
My daughter wants to go into the mines - but I am claustrophobic and I am not sure I can deal with tiny dark tunnels ...
Thank you for responding!

if you get an early train you will have loads of time to see the Bobe church and Kutna Hora.just a word of warnibg the town of Kutna Hora is built on a steep hill so be prepared for some uphill walking.
toe gte to the Bone church, just walk out of the railway station to the rught and you will come to the main road you have to walk up a small slip road to your left to get onto this, just follow your nose and you will pass a Philip morris cigarette factory (or it was last time I passed)keep walking till you come to a large church which will be on the left had side of a junction, can't remember the name of it but i think it recently reopend after major refurbishment ,this is not the bone Church, however if you take the junction to the right and walk up here a couple of hundred yards you will come to the Bone church should take no more than 10 minutes from the train station.to get to Kutna Hora just walk back to the junction and follow the ropad in,there are (or were) yellow distance and direction markings on the pavements to show you the way.theis road is straigh and flat, there is one roundabout but just keep straight on,it is pretty obvious.this road is completely flat till you reach the town inself then the uphill walking begins.Should take you 20-30 minutes to get to the town. we visited the Italian court building and St Barbaras cathedral but missed out on the silver mine ,I too get a bit claustrophobic. The whole town is stunning i am sure you will love it.
We had lunch in the Dacicky Pivince just set back from the street Rejskova, this is a wonderful old beer hall with a big log fire. The food here was superb and prices about half what you pay in Prague.
