Don't know about a train -- There is a Montmartre Bus that circles the area, and a funicular that goes up to Sacre Coeur.

You can catch it just before the Place du Tertre. It makes several stops where you can probably board as well, e.g. in front of the Moulin Rouge. Since Montmartre is hilly this is an easy way to see some of the sights on it. Sorry don't recall costs.

It looks like a small children's train.

It runs in a continuous circle from Place Pigalle to the space in front of Sacré C?ur and back, 10 am to 7 pm in season (5 pm otherwise. Costs € 3.50.

Oh, yes, I do remember seeing that little Disney type train at Place du Tertre, and didn't pay it much mind. When you said train, my mind struck on subway/RR. We stayed at Montmartre for a week and took the funicular back & forth.

As jmv says the train is fun because you get to see parts of Montmarte that the average tourist wouldn't.

We took it down from Sacre Couer to Pigalle

i just rode on it. And it was sorta stupid. It started sear Sacre Coeur, and it ends near the Moulin Rouge. You will have more fun just walking around
