destinations in february?

I have been tp Paris in January and February and enjoyed both those trips immensely. This February I am going to Nice. I have always liked winter travel in France. Wherever you go, have a great trip.

"February isn't Spring"
It is fairly banal to simply get out a diary and say the Spring Equinox from 20th March is Spring. You can't compare 20th March in Glasgow with 20th March in Seville.
February is Spring in Southern Europe, the flowers start to blossom in late February and for many areas this is a good time to visit. April/May is usually wetter, we have found that higer pressure forms in January/February but clearly the temperatures are not those you will experience with the summer highs.

Whoo-hoo. A free place to stay in Paris! That would most definitely answer the question for me for sure. Plus generally speaking I think a major city works better for a winter trip than the countryside or moving around a lot (more to do indoors, more opportunities in a concentrated geographic area).

From your question, I would suggest possibly visiting the North western region of Galicia in Spain. You seem like people who enjoy a mixture of vibrancy and culture, Galicia offers both of these in abundance.
The capital of the region, Santiago de compestella, is a truely authentic spansih town. Go into any cafe of bar during the afternoon and you'll find old spanish men playing traditional spansih card games. The new town offers all the vibrancy and modernity you wish, with many designer shops and boutiques and soem quintessential Spansih bars and cafe's.
