Denmark to Copenhagen - flying cheaper than train?

I find ScanRail for $ 300+, and flights for maybe $ 125. 5+ hrs, versus 1 1/2 hrs, plus to and from the airport. Seems like a no brainer.

Denmark to Copenhagen? Is that like New York to Manhattan?

This weekend I'm taking a camel from Philadelphia to America. Won't cost me a cent.

Perhaps it's the Denmark in Iowa, or Maine, or New York, or South Carolina, or Tennessee, or Wisconsin. Or even somewhere else.

Last summer SAS was offering special fares between Copenhagen, Oslo, Stockholm and (I think) Helsinki for about $75 each way. I don't know what the requirements / times were except that you had to buy the tickets in the US.

Check http://www.whichbudget.com for budget flight information, and be sure to tack on the cost of transport to/from the airports. If the SAS deal is available, obviously that's very good.

$300 seems like a lot even not staying in the same place.

Not knowing when you're traveling, I can't give specifics, but on the Swedish Railways page www.sj.se, Stockholm to Copenhagen is usually closer to $140 (1093 SK), and less if you get an advance purchase deal.
