I'm trying to plan travel from London to Copenhagen. It appears the most cost effective way is to take RyanAir to Malmo, Sweden and then figure out how to get from Malmo to Copenhagen - which I can't figure out. I assume it has to be a ferry; if so how to get from airport to ferry. Or, is there a better way??? Thanks for your help and advice. Jim

There is very good train service, virtually a commuter, from Malmo to Copenhagen. But I'm fascinated that it's cheaper for you to fly to Malmo than to Copenhagen from London. Did you check Maersk Air?

Hi genoajim,<BR>The commuter trains depart every 20 minutes: I believe on the hour, then 20 after and 40 after. Many people commute from Malmo to Copenhagen for work, and this is how they get there. The &quot;new&quot; bridge between Denmark and Sweden transports the train (I believe it was up and running in 2000).<BR>

Thank you Cassandra and Surfergirl. I was not aware of the new bridge (I'm just starting my planning and my old 1999 map didn't show it), so I'm glad to learn of the commmuter train. Also, I will check out Maersk Air as it would be more convenient to fly directly into Copenhagen. Thanks again .... Jim

I have been checking out transportation from London to Copenhagen and found airfare to be very reasonable. Easyjet (which I know nothing about) has as flight for $16.99 GBP which converts to about $30 US. Sounds too good to be true, but I am going to do more research and find out. Much cheaper than the train.

Easyjet is a budget company - similar to SouthWest in the US.
The prices are great, but the taxes add another 11GBP. Using credit card to buy your ticket add another 4GBP service charge.
Also, it flies out from London Stansted which is farther away (ie more expensive transportation) than Gatwick or Heathrow.

But having said that, your grand total is still probably be less than flying the &quot;regular&quot; airlines.

yk is right in that even after paying taxes, cc charges and the train to Stansted you will come up ahead of the large carriers. Last month I flew Ryanair from London Stansted to Rome for 38 GBP return. Even after paying for the train, Ryanair's price left the others behind.
