tdiddy,
There is a Sheraton right in the CDG terminal. I had a layover in Paris a few years ago. As I was walking toward the RER to scoot down to the hotel I had reserved near Luxembourg I passed the door of the Sheraton. Their price was lower so I camped in, canceled the other, and later took the RER to the city for dinner. The Sheraton CDG is extremely convenient.

The Sheraton is not exactly cheap (I paid 1200 FF there two years ago for a single room) and it's very much oriented to business customers. I have to think there are other alternatives that are less expensive. There was a thread here earlier today or yesterday listing the hotels at CDG, including a Holiday Inn, a Mercure, and others, that might be cheaper. The Sheraton sure beats the others for convenience, though - you can fly out of the shower, take the elevator downstairs, and be in line for check-in in the space of about 5 minutes.

The Sheraton isn't cheap, but it's listed sometimes on the londonhotels.com discount list. I got it for about $140 this summer. The nice thing is that it has a modest little gym, so I ran for about three miles on the treadmill noon 12 plane, hoping to wear myself out.

Unfortunately the plane was delayed for seven hours. Fortunately, they took pity on me and let me in the first class lounge.

We stayed at the Comfort Inn CDG in October. Very very cheap, and we got what we paid for! It was very cramped, and was not at all clean (dirty towels left in the bathroom, dirty sheets on the bed), and the bed didn't have a real mattress, just a foam pad. Very nice people, and a good breakfast buffet and good shuttle service, but I'd have rather spent the extra bucks for a clean room!

Anne

Sheraton is by far the most convenient because - at least if you leave from Terminal 2 - you're right there.
If you can get a good rate, go for it.
For any others you need a bus or shuttle.
I stayed at Sofitel once. Good, but pricey. It's not only the room rate, but anything you drink or eat jacks up your total cost really fast.
And basically, what else is there to do on a last night/morning?
In my opinion, if you have to take a bus, it does not matter if it takes 3 or 10 minutes.
Three years ago, I volunteered to give up my seat wih Air France, got a voucher for a next free trip, and they put me up at Campanile Roissy CDG.
The room was nothing fancy, but clean and adequate. The free shuttle took 10 minutes.
Enjoyed a couple beers at the bar, a very decent dinner, and a solid breakfast the next morning. Both ample buffet style.
Would stay there again. The rate for a double is between 72 and 102 Euro these days.
