Day trip to Siena

We are trying to figure out the logistics for a daytrip to Siena and could use some advice.

We are staying about an hour south of Siena (Lucignano d'Asso). We will be visiting a vineyard in the Chianti region - Isole e Olena in Barbarino Val d'Elsa (near Greve) around 9 in the morning. After that we plan to drive south to Siena for the day.

What we aren't sure about is where to park the car?

Also, are we giving ourselves enough time in Siena if we plan to arrive in time for lunch and leave after dinner?

Thank you!

Hi mw,

You can see the high points in 1/2 day.

Many people find evening and night time in Siena to be the best time of day.

What a long day. Are you sure you want to drive an hour at nite after dinner on country roads?

On our visits to Siena, we approached by car from the south and easily found well-marked parking facilities just on the outskirts of town - easy walking distance.

Unfortunately, we are stuck with the winery appt. I know it isn't really the best scenario, but hubby really wanted to fit it in. Long story. So now I am just trying to make the rest of the day work as best as possible.

I tried to talk him out of it, but no go.
