PalenQ: I cannot help you use your computer and the DB site from my location.
The ALX 353 leaves Munich Hbf tomorrow June 13 at 9:01 from platform 26 and arrives at 10:20 at Regensburg Hbf, platform 4
Maybe someone else at your location can assist you.
"throughout the day links involving an ICE train are 45 minutes faster all told than those just involving regional trains - something Russ did not say but cherry picked the odd train that goes direct"
This comment is no more accurate than anything else you've said on this thread.
9:15 - ICE/AG trains - 1hr., 55 min.
9:44 RE train - 1 hr., 30 min.
10:09 ICE/AG trains - 2:01
10:44 ALX train - 1:27
11:13 ICE/AG trains - 1:57
I suspect actually that you got quite confused in the course of this thread. You responded as follows to paris1953's comments about REGENSBURG:
paris1953: "Total cost for 2 round trip, first class tickets on the "fast" train (ICE or whatever, my husband isn't here to correct me) was 50 euros."
PalenQ: "Much better IMO than the Bavarian Lander Ticket always touted for this kind of journey - faster trains and IME much MUCH nicer comfy trains than being restricted to regional trains that not only take much longer but just are not made for longer distance comfortable travel and can at anytime IME be swarmed on by school groups which even if just for a few stops can be IME very unsettling."
But even though you had just previously shared your own enthusiasm for REGENSBURG with Gary, you perhaps thought that paris1953 and I were still talking about Rothenburg, even though we both referred clearly to REGENSBURG in our posts.
Go back and read the thread, sort out your confusion, and try to read more accurately next time.
And since what I said is quite accurate about the Munich - Regensburg route, you should either retract your comments, or provide evidence that they are wrong.

Russ - yes I was thinking Rothenburg from the OP's title - so sorry - should have known you were right about that one. regensburg and Rothenburg all mixed up. For Regensburg regional trains are significantly faster - again mea culpa on mixing up the two and not reading carefully and you may be able to understand why, probably not.

I'll do both - I admit I had Rothenburg in my head when I read Regfensburg - I even kept looking at the thread title to see Rothenburg but a brain malfunction read Regensburg when the city being talked about changed. That's all I am guilty of - a common mistake in this case that can be excused in this case.
