Czech Republic-Hrensko/Pravcicka Brana
I am planning a trip to the Czech Republic in late September/early October. I have 4-5 days in Prague and was thinking about taking a side trip to Hrensko/Pravcicka Brana. Does anyone know if this can be done in a day trip and are there any bus tours that go there.
I could rent a car but am not sure how good the roads are in that part of the country. I am concerned about snow (if there is any) since I haven't had to drive in the snow for probably 25 years (moved from Chicago to Florida).
If not a day trip, what would be the best way to get there by public transport.
As always, thanks for your help.

last time I was in that area was over 20 years ago but I was with a walking group and we had our own minibus.
It may be a bit of a pain to do as a day trip by public transport,I have looked at the Idos.cz website and it is about 3 hours eachway by public transport and not at the most conienient of times.

I would say probably 2 hours by car but I am no expert on driving in the CR.Little or no chance of snow at that time of year

It's only two hours one way. The reason is that if you enter "Hrensko" the website comes up with a bus from Decin to Hrensko, and the times are inconvenient. Better enter "Schöna", which is the first town in Germany, from there a ferry crosses the Elbe/Labe river to Hrensko - that's just a five minutes affair. You change to a regional train in Decin (direction Bad Schandau).
I found a train leaving Prague Hlavni Nadrazi at 8.48 am, arriving Decin 10:32 am, the regional train leaving Decin at 10:40 and arriving in Schöna at 10:57 am.
The hike up to Pravcicka brana and back should take about 4 hours, including some time up there for picnic and photos. For example, there is a train back from Schöna at 5 pm, change in Decin, arriving in Prague 7.08 pm. You won't be faster driving.
