That's great. I feel so lucky to have found someone who has done this tour! The dates they're showing for 2011 are July 1 and July 8, which I'm guessing are pretty warm. It looks like 2-4 hours per day of cycling, so I think we could handle that, especially if there's a pool or beach involved. I'll have my husband read your post since he's the cyclist. I'm sure everything would be open by the time I arrive
I'll look at Backroads again. I had put them out of mind when I saw the dates for the Greece trip, but I'll see what they have for Italy. The other option we're considering is not cycling, but the Windstar cruise from Greece to Turkey. Deciding on how lazy we want to be...
Thanks.

I would not be able to get my husband on a cruise unless he's on crutches (and even then...)
I have been pressing him, however, about the Backroads Turkey cycling/yachting tour. He's not been to Turkey; I have and I loved it. By pure chance, I struck up a conversation with a cyclist at a roadside cafe in Arizona who had been on that specific Turkey tour and said it was the vacation of her life.

Too funny. I considered the Windstar cruises because there are fewer people and I imagine it actually feels like you're on a boat, but hubby would be doing it for me, not for his enjoyment
We should probably save that for when we are physically not able to cycle. I saw that Backroads Turkey cycling/yachting excursion. Sounded great, but if I remember correctly, that was over our price range. I'll check it out again.
