Cruise to Europe- need good cruiseline

Hi there,

The hubs and I (in our 20's) would like to travel back to Europe this summer- went last year to Rome, Florence, Venice and Paris- we flew to Rome and then made our way around- this year i was thinking about a cruise ( no time to plan, and i really hate flying) . Weve never been on a cruise and wanted to know if anyone had any good suggestions of what cruise line to check out- Im open to all suggestions in Europe- the only place were not interested in going to this time is Eastern Europe- saving that for another time. I was also hesitant to book a cruise because then we dont really get to stay in the city and get the whole feel of it and experience.. can anyone persuade me?

Thanks for your help!!

We cruise a lot ,one of the best cruises we took was From Dover UK "The Northen Baltic capitals' about 10 to 12 days In St Petersberg & Copenhagen the ship stays 2 day in port. Most of the cruise lines are good, it mainly comes down to best price although Holland America seems to cate r to the senior crowd (Iam one of them & did not c are for the line. I usualy book through
ww,cruisecompete .com where several agents bid for your business. that paricular cruise I would do a gain.

Also check out cruise.com, used them for my last 3 cruises with lots of luck.
As for cruise lines it depends on your tastes and your budget.
Mass Market line such as Carnival, Royal Caribbean and Norwegian offer big ships lots of activities and lower prices.

IMO the mid-priced lines such as Holland America, Princess and Celebrity are good options for first timers. Ships not so larger, still lots of activities but a shade more expensive.

Personal preference is for small, upscale lines such as Oceania, Amzarma Club, Crystal, etc.

Best part of a cruise....you only have to unpack once! DW loves that part. And, the ship takes you someplace different almost everyday.

Strongly recommend Winstar Cruises http://www.windstarcruises.com/
Only 300 people on board, very intimate. 1st Class with great food and very friendly service. Not as much entertainment as the big cruise lines but servicable. They get into ports others can't. We have cruised many times and this was our favorite. Stay away from MSN. Wonderful ship, very large but food was awful and the staff has an attitude. We met people from all over the world on "Fantasy" and all felt the same way.

I'm not sure I understand the post. Does she just want to get to Europe on a ship or does she want to cruise around various cities?
