Cruise tfrom Stockholm to Helsinki
We are planning on taking the overnight cruise from Stockholm to Helsinki and wondered which cruise line is the best?
Are there any advantages to taking the daytime trip instead of the nighttime? And lastly, we are going in July and wondered if it is necessary to arrange it this far ahead? Any info on cruise decisions are welcome!

There was a thread a few days ago, I have topped it for you (Silja vs. Viking line).
Actually, I am not aware of a daytime trip between Helsinki and Stockholm (probably due to its passage time of about 15 hours), but there are daylight trips from Stockholm to Turku.
I would suggest you book as soon as possible, as the best cabins tend to get sold quite early during the main European holiday period.
Enjoy your trip

kte,
Silja leaves Stockholm at 1700 and arrives in Helsinki at 0930. Viking leaves Stockholm at 1650 and arrives Helsinki 0955. Both stop in Mariehamn on Aeland, an island in the Gulf of Bothnia; it is very out of the way of everything, but what the heck I spent a night.
Similar schedule for the return.
Finland's time zone is one hour ahead of Sweden's (11:00 Stockholm is noon Helsinki), so reset your watch.
I went Silja a number of years ago because it was included with EurailPass, and I loved it. Great food and a dance ballroom for young and old; it reminded me of a humungous wedding party. Dress smart. The ship swayed through the night on the way back to Sweden and I could feel the waves all the way to Gothenburg on the train the next day.
