Croatia Trip Advice!!!

Hi there!!!
Need some advice and suggestions on my upcoming trip to Croatia!!!
My girlfriend and I(both22) are travelling to Croatia for the last 2 weeks in August.
We are flying to Trieste in Italy and travelling down by bus.
There are acouple of gaps in our itinerary that I must fill in soon.Hopefully you can help me??
August 19: Arrive Trieste(Could get bus to Zadar and spend 2nights here?
August 20 ??
August 21: Plan to stay in Split that night
August 22-26:Hvar Town(day trips to surrounding islands)
August 26-29:Korcula Town
August 29-September 2: Dubrovnik
September 2:Fly home to Ireland from Dub.

If anyone has any suggestions as to what we could do for those two days we would really appreciate it!!!
Thanks a million guys..
J&L

Hi joeymc, How about seeing Plitvice Lakes? We did not visit there on our trip, but I regret it, because it is supposed to be quite beautiful. Have a wonderful trip! pp

If I were you, I'd take the bus to Rovinj first, then Zadar. Keep in mind, August is the busiest month in Croatia.

You will have a great time in Croatia.

Coming from Trieste, I'd work my way to Split a bit differently. I have been to Zadar, but don't think it's worth 2 nights. In fact, given your time frame, I'd only go there if it was a logical place to stay for a night. Don't go out of your way. Just MHO.

So I would stay at least one or two nights in Istria (with a car if at all possible). Then I'd go to Plitvice for a night, then to Split for a night. Drop off the car in Split, then go to Hvar.

We only stayed in Hvar for 3 nights which, for us, was enough. But it depends entirely on what you like to do. I have not been to Korcula, but I don't think you would need that much time there. I'd add more time to Dubrovnik if possible.

Any way you slice it, you'll love Croatia. There really is no "best" way to see it.

Spend the night in Pula, a beautiful city south of Trieste. The Roman ruins are outstanding there.
