joey,
I'm right in the middle of my trip report now ( just ckick on my name and you'll find it) Let meknow if you have questions, extractwhat you will from it. But one piece of advice, try to just relax and not run around too much!!!! |
Hi joeymc, How about seeing Plitvice Lakes? We did not visit there on our trip, but I regret it, because it is supposed to be quite beautiful. Have a wonderful trip! pp

If I were you, I'd take the bus to Rovinj first, then Zadar. Keep in mind, August is the busiest month in Croatia.

You will have a great time in Croatia.
Coming from Trieste, I'd work my way to Split a bit differently. I have been to Zadar, but don't think it's worth 2 nights. In fact, given your time frame, I'd only go there if it was a logical place to stay for a night. Don't go out of your way. Just MHO. So I would stay at least one or two nights in Istria (with a car if at all possible). Then I'd go to Plitvice for a night, then to Split for a night. Drop off the car in Split, then go to Hvar. We only stayed in Hvar for 3 nights which, for us, was enough. But it depends entirely on what you like to do. I have not been to Korcula, but I don't think you would need that much time there. I'd add more time to Dubrovnik if possible. Any way you slice it, you'll love Croatia. There really is no "best" way to see it. |
Spend the night in Pula, a beautiful city south of Trieste. The Roman ruins are outstanding there.
