Credit Card Not Charged for B&B Stay

My husband and I stayed at a small B&B in Cashel in early September. We only stayed for one night and charged our stay to a credit card.

That charge hasn't shown up yet on our credit card. I hate for the sweet little owner to not get payment - what should I do? Send a cashiers check? Call her? I don't think she has email.

Thanks for your advice!

Chances are they put thru your charge manually. I would give it a few more weeks, and then if you are concerned, contact them.

I've had restaurant charges in Europe (usually very tiny family run places) show up as much as two months after the fact. So like Budman says, maybe they only put them through manually once a month or so.
Have you looked at your CC online up to date, or only looking at your last closing statement?

I'm sure they check to see what was paid and what wasn't. If you want, contact them, tell them you haven't seen it on your cc and make sure they have your contact information so they can contact you if there is a problem. I would feel the same as you if it's a family run B and B.

I just got a bunch of charges from our early September trip charged on our October Am Ex statement.

(Unfortunately, my double miles were only in September, so I missed extra miles on 3 mights in Paris, a week in Venice, and a meal at Alain Ducasse.)

I would feel the same if it's a family run B&B, large international hotel chain or whatever.

Unless its disguised with a name that you don't recognise, it will undoubtably turn up in a few weeks.

I wouldn't lose too much sleep over it.

Small merchants often hold Credit Card charges until they can qualify for a lesser rate from their Bank: the Bank may charge them 4% for charges up to a certain amount (1,000 Euro?) and 2.5 % on charges 1,001 - 5,000 Euro). That happens here in the USA also.

Or maybe they always take their Credit Card receipts to the Bank on a certain fixed day (month-end) and it was after your monthly Credit Card Billing date.

I wouldn't worry about it.
