County Mayo in addition to Kerry and Clare?
My spouse and I will be spending ~6 days along coastal Ireland in early September. We plan to spend a few days in each of County Clare and Kerry doing the standard outdoor things: visit the national parks, hike along Cliffs of Moher, perhaps a day trip to Arran islands. Our main hopes are to enjoy the vistas along the coast, the more dramatic the better! If there are some mild scrambling hikes then that is great but not mandatory. QUESTION: is it worth going up to County Mayo for a day or two? Is the geography of that area particularly unique or is it more of the same? Thanks in advance!

County Mayo is beautiful, as are all coastal areas in Ireland. My only concern about going up there as well is that you only have 6 days. I would rather spend that limited time between Clare and Kerry. You can easily spend 4 or 5 days in Dingle, Killarney, Galway or the Aran Islands. Take your time and relax. Save Mayo for the next trip (along with Sligo and Donegal!)

Yep, stay where you are. You'll run out time in Kerry and Clare as it is, and you don't want to waste a second in transport. We've spent weeks in Ireland over the years and still have some "must sees" left to do.
