Bedar - Have you done the combo sea+ground route?
I am a female traveling alone but will join a tour in Casablanca.
Do I need to worry about when I arrive to Tangier and take a bus/train to Casa? And how much does it cost? How is the bus/train system in Morocco?

The bus and train systems are excellent in Morocco. On arrival in Tangiers you will be beset by touts wanting to show you the city. Do you speak French or Spanish ? That would certainly help although these people will also speak English. They will be highly annoying. The best thing to do is to get into a taxi and go to either the train or bus station. The bus, of course, has open seating, but the train has seating by classes. Get first class seating. We lived in Morocco for five years but long ago so I don't know current costs, but it will be cheap. Have fun !

Hi Bedar - Thanks so much for the info. I wished I had seen your response sooner. I had to make a decision fast today and I ended up purchasing the air ticket from Malaga to Casablanca. I thought the plane ticket is too expensive for such a short trip.
I am getting a land only tour in Morocco and I got $850 discount since I was not taking the air transport from USA. But I ended up paying $440 from Malaga to Casablance. I am not happy about that!
I would have much prefered the ride on the hydrofoil and bus/train for sightseeing purposes rather than flying.

Oh well, look on the bright side: - you won't have those touts to deal with. They are most annoying and can be frightening to some people. Better that you pick up your tour in Casa and have an easy intro to Morocco. You'll love it and can take the ferry/train/bus, whatever, the next time !!

I am going to Spain in September with my mother and grandmother (I am female)
How did you find travelling over to Morrocco?
Is a day trip enough because that's all we are planning. We will probably be staying in Marbella and then take a bus to the ferry.
Can you use euros in Morrocco?
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

Bedar - Is Tanger worth a visit?
Also, I get to Casblanca at 9:30 pm and I have to go to my hotel. Do yo know by any chance how far the airport from the city is. I am a little bit nervous about the trip to the hotel considering the stories I hear.

Yes, Tangiers is worth a visit, but, remember, the touts/urchins are quite hard and can be quite vicious there - they are so used to all the day-trippers from the Costa del Sol that in spite of the govt's efforts to eradicate this it continues. Lack of employment and hence poverty are at the root of this. The three ladies should get an escorted tour out of Marbella or Algeciras.
At the airport in Casa there is a train that runs into the city till 10:20 pm and costs about 35dh. The are two stops in Casa - Voyageurs and Port. There is also a bus service which will take you into the main CTM bus station. From either place you can take a petit taxi to your hotel.
