Cork or Cobh? Need suggestions

Hello.
I got to Ireland in March and am finalizing my itentiary and beginning to book hotels.

I am staying two nights in the Cork/Cobh area but I'm not sure if which city to stay the night in.
I've browsed hotels and haven't found any I really like in Cobh. But maybe I've missed some good ones.
Can anyone provide me with their tips and recommendations?

Thank you!!

Agree with Macross. I stayed at the Imperial Hotel in Cork and made a day trip to Cobh. Cobh was so much fun as it has an audio visual presentation of the Titanic and Lusitana's last days. They also give you a ticket with a name of a real passenger who sailed on those ships. In addition the waiting rooms are what they were like in those days.

There isn't a great choice of accommodation in Cobh its a traditional Irish rather than Tourist location in the manor of yacht and golf foodies Kinsale these days. Cork has a far greater choice of Accommodation.

A relative stayed at the Commodore Hotel in Cobh while we were in a B&B. I think he liked it.

Much to do in Cobh.

Commodore is a great hotel, really friendly, comfortable and clean but a bit dated perhaps for some. Surprisingly Fota Island resort seldom gets a mention when folk are looking for 5* accommodation. wonderful place bu way above my budget these days.

Thanks for all the recommendations! I think we're going to stay overnight in Cork and make a day trip to Cobh.

I have heard about Kinsale being a great place to visit. What do you recommend doing? Should we make plans to visit this town?

We called in at Kinsale Crystal and would have had a tour but the owner/crystal maker had gone to Cork City for plumbing parts! So we just shopped and moved on.
