In Granada we stayed at a hotel right on the Plaza Bib Ramblas. Sorry I can't recall the name of the hotel, but I recommend that Plaza as a good location. It was busy and energetc by day, but quiet at night, and well-located for the areas you're most likely to wander. If I remember the name of the hotel I'll reply again.

Reina Christina in Granada. I would stay there again.

Conquistador in Cordoba and Alixares in Granada. Two very nice, very reasonably priced hotels right next to the Mezquita and Alhambra, respectively.
