Consolidator airfares
Starting to shop for a ticket to Lyon from DC during spring break starting Good Friday - obviously fares are high. Has anyone dealt with airfare.com? They seem to have great fares via Lufthansa or United, but I have trust issues.

If you're in the DC area, you might want to contact FareDeals, a consolidator in Owings Mill, MD. Their 800 number is 1-800-347-7006. I have been dealing with Lewis Katz there for more than a decade (he's at ext. 109) and have been more than happy with his service. I usually hunt around for the best deal I can find on the internet and then call him and see if he can beat it. He almost always can.

I've used www.travelhub.com for several years now for my airfare purchases to Europe. I've never had a problem. Of course, most consolidator fares are non-refundable and non-transferable, so beware.
I've been told that www.autoeurope.com matches anyone else's farer. They have very good prices. I will probably use them on my next trip to Europe:

Good luck,

Will investigate. Hope the airfare wars expand! Lufthansa has easy connections from Frankfurt and Munich to Lyon for less than through Paris at the moment. As I hope to ski, I want to keep my intermodal schlepping to a minimum. I'll keep checking and your suggestions, Thanks!
