connecting to Metro

My wife and I will be landing at CDG next Thursday around 1 P.M. We have carry on luggage and will be taking RER into Paris. We want to go to the Metro stop Ecole Militaire. What station would be the best to connect to the Balard line. Thanks.

Unfortunately, you will have to change Métro lines no matter what you do, by one of these routes:

RER B to Gare du Nord
Métro Ligne 4 to Strasbourg-St. Denis
Ligne 7 to École Militaire

- or -

RER B to Notre Dame-St. Michel
RER C to Invalides
Ligne 7 to École Militaire

A viable alternative for many people is to take the Roissybus to Opéra (which takes a little longer and costs a little more), and Ligne 7 direct to École Militaire.

If you would rather stay above ground, there are several bus routes that will get you there as well, the easiest being

RER B to Luxembourg
Bus N° 82 direct to École Militaire.

Look at this...it gives you 3 options from start point CDG (pick terminal) to end point Ecole Militaire

Very often, there is a better route that ratp.fr doesn't mention. Right at the moment (17h22 in Paris), it's suggesting riding the Air France bus to Étoile and Bus N° 92 to École Militaire.

There's nothing particularly wrong with this route, but it can be done for $17 cheaper (2 RER = $22, 2 AF+Bus = $39) with about the same convenience.

Bus no. 42 starts at the Gare du Nord and stops two blocks from the Ecole Militaire on the Eiffel Tower side.
