Connecting flight to CDG using LOT Polish Airlines

The cheapest fare I've found from MCI to CDG involves a connection in Warsaw and leaves ORD and WAW on LOT Polish Airlines. Has anyone have any experience with LOT? Skytrax was no help at all, some 4 star reviews, some 1 stars, all over the place. Many of the reviewers were from Eastern Europe so I don't trust the cultural differences completely.

I'm wondering whether the price differential of $196.00 per person is worth the risk. Any thoughts?

yes, I flew them once from Poland to London, as I recall. It was fine, it's a regular major airline.

When you say "risk", are you talking about safety. If so, just out the statistics, that's easy. I don't think they've had an incident in over 20 years. If you just want comfort or plushness or something, that's another issue so I don't know what that would be like long distance. They have a lot of cheap flights out of Chicago because of all the Czech/Poles there.

My concern is the customer service aspect. Also, whether there would be large delays, etc., as I intend on booking a TGV train to Montpellier that day if available.

Hi; We have flown Lot and it was fine. However, is the savings worth the time you will be losing going that route? How much extra flying time and layover in Warsaw? Just Warsaw to CDG is 2 1/2 hour. Perhaps for a long trip, but maybe not for a short stay. Richard

LOT has become a respected European carrier.

I flew with them in their "seats for party memmbers only" Tupolev days and more recently on their fleet of modern Boeings.

No complaints
