Confused ~ Pheasant Inn Lake District

So which is the famous Pheasant Inn, the one in Bassenthwaite Lake, or Keswick? Looking for a good lunch stop.

The Bassenthwaite Lake one is th one you want, wrenwood:

i'm sure there's nothing wrong with the other one, in fact it looks quite nice, but it doesn't have any rooms, and isn't the one you are thinking of:

hope that helps!

Don't want rooms, just a great lunch and atmosphere. Bassenthwaite Lake still better?

As Ann posts : definitely Bass Lake.

It's definitely the place to go for atmosphere and landed gentry.

For many years it was THE place to go and had an "old school" feel.

The food has always been of a high standard but the refurbishment to some areas left parts of the building feeling a little "chain" like.

Still the best pub in the area.

Also try Armathwaite Hall or Lyzzick Hall for food.

Agreed on the refurb, it looks like they went into a chain pub, took pictures and said, "Build that"! However, the food is a s good as ever, as is the location.
