concise review of hotels, restaurants and guides

For those who don't want to read through the ponderous detail but would like to know about the hotels etc. here is the review:
1. Hotel Britannique (Paris)- fantastic, quiet, excellent location, great helpful staff
2. Ferme de la Ranconniere (Crepon, Normandy) - beautiful room and location, helpful staff, snooty restaurant, but good food
3. Hotel Mouton Blanc (Mont St. Michel) - passably comfortable, staff friendly but no english, location location location
4. Chateau de Pintray (Amboise) - beautiful B and B located on wine growing estate, gracious and generous hosts
5. CDG hotel Marriott - extremely comfortable and convenient, surprisingly good restaurant.

Restaurants:
Fantastic meals in Paris: Aux Anysetiers Du Roy, Testavin (Isle st. Louis), Le Petit Chatelet (Latin quarter)
Terrible meal in Paris - Le Vaudeville in the 8th
Great meals in Amboise - Parvis and L'Epicerie
great meal in Chinon - Gargantua

Guides: French mystique Tours: responsible, fun, funny, good driver, flexible, knowledgeable, generous, meticulously honest, helpful - altogether great

thanks, Laura - very useful.

if your other recs are as good as the Britannique is, they will be very good indeed.

So, how did you like your trip?

What did you do?

What did you eat?

Hi Ira, I actually wrote 4 rather long trip reports (parts I, II, iii, and IV) detailing the whole adventure - be curious to hear what you think. this was just the quicky summary for those who didn't want to slog through all my verbiage. and what did we eat- everything I think!

Bravo on your concise review. I too tend to carry on with extreme details so I am now going to your long trip reports.

To me, any trip report on Paris is worth reading.
