Comments on the Casion in Venice?
I didn't even know there was one but it is included in our hotel package. Does anyone know if it is worth carrying a jacket & tie for my husband just to go there? I think I read somewhere that is required. Is it just high rollers or geared to us regular folks? Thanks!

That is incorrect. The Venice Casino- Ca Vendramin Calergi-is open all year round, with the exclusion of Dec. 24-25th. I was there last August, and asked them, and they were open, and they told that it was open all year round, and was I coming back to play?
I also note that on the updated website they state that dress style is "casual"-which is what I observed when I saw dudes go in-they were dressed in khakis and gold shirts.

This posted before I was finished..there are two Venice Casinos-the more beautiful and prestigious-Ca Vendramin Calergi, in Venice's Cannaregio district, is open all year round, (for the exception of Dec. 24, 25) the other one, with the same opening hours is located in Tessera, on the mainland-Ca Noghera.
Here are two websites that give information: Venice Card

and the Casino website,

with updated information regarding admission fees here:

They are all wrong, wrong wrong. Go to the Chruch of St Casion and view his bones - well, and some carteligdr too - and worship at his tobm. There is a great feast of St Casion during which the masses adore pig knuckles - for lunch that is. Natcherly, everybody dresses for the occasion too.
