Cole Haan Shoes.. yay or nay?
I'm thinking about buying a pair of cole haan air shoes for my upcoming trip to Europe in the summer. I was just wondering if anyone has ever worn these while traveling in europe and how they worked out. The particular type i'm interested in are the air.beau.lace up if that helps! Any insight would be great
Thanks.
Thanks.

I've had both good and not-so-good experiences with Cole Haan. But with air in the name, it sounds like a style that uses Nike Air cushioning technology--the same thing that absorbs impact in Nike running shoes. (Nike owns Cole Haan.) If that's the case, they may be quite comfy for walking around a lot. I've worn some of the Cole Haan sandals with Air cushioning in Europe and they were great. The ones I've had problems with were clog-type shoes that hit the top of my foot in an odd place. They were very hard to walk in. Best bet: wear them in heavy walking conditions at home first and see how your feet feel at the end of the day.

I have two pairs of the airs. They can be kind of stiff . I suggest you really break them in before you go. Cole Haan makes a very durable and comfortable shoe. Forgot to mention that the Cole Haan Airs won't have that bouncy feel to it like the Nike Airs.

Hi sweetpea,
I have the ColeHahn Nike/air suede slides, they are the most comfortable shoes! I have tried on the Beau Airs and really like them too.
Right now my new most favorite shoe is the Merrel "clog" with the fur lining.. I walk around all day like I am in my bedroom slippers

I agree with oceankayaker. They're comfy and got me around berlin, hamburg, copenhagen and paris quite comfortably, but break them in first. Also, if the balls of your feet are very sensitive like mine are, you might want to buy some of those Dr. Scholls balls-of-feet cushioned pads 'cause the Cole Hahns are kinda thin up front.

My husband has the Cole Haan Nike (suede slip on) and wears them all the time. They are great for travel bc he can wear them with jeans during the day or with kakis at night for dinner (it's the only pair of shoes he brings) Has has the same pair for 3 years now I think...still look great! Worth the money!

It depends on your feet. I do not have narrow feet, so I found Cole Haan shoes to be very uncomfortable.
The ONLY shoes that I have found to be comfortable besides my New Balance sneakers are my ARCHE shoes (made in France) and Car Shoe (made in Italy). The last are similar to Tod's loafers. Flat and comfy.

I agree with Bettyo70, I sometimes find Cole Haan's to be a bit narrow.
I just yesterday bought the cutiest, comfy shoes by Joseph Seibel for our umcoming trip. They were spendy but worth every penny. Have the Air Massage bottoms.
Comfy, comfy, comfy...
Happy walking, Tiff

I've bought a few of the cole haan - nike air shoes and overall have been satisfied however the soles on two pair cracked after about a month of walking the NYC streets. Cole Haan allowed me to replace them with other selections. I agree that their a little bit stiff - and am thinking of jumping up to the next level, though not sure what that would be.

Cole Haan all the way!
Have a pair of air sandals for 2 years, and have walked all over with them. Never had to even break them in. Heading to spain in a few weeks with some lovely cole haan air booties. they are expensive shoes and worth every dime. I can't recommend them enough. if you live near an outlet center, definitely worth checking out there. A substantial savings...

My husband likes Cole Haan quite a bit; however, when he was having problems with his feet, he bought a brand called Ecco. He was able to walk all day in them comfortably and his feet seemed to actually improve by wearing them. They were made with Gortex (sp?) and were very light weight. He swears by them!

I have worn Cole Haan loafers to Europe on numerous trips. They have a lug type sole and are fantastic on the cobblestone streets. I have never found them stiff and they required no breaking in. I do have a somewhat narrow foot, so if you hae a wide foot, they might not be for you. My husband was a big Ferragomo fan, but I bought a pair and found them not nearly as comfortable as my Cole Haans. By the way, I do not think that Zappos carries Cole Haan shoes, but if you have a Nike outlet near you, they very often do. My daughter has bought them in the Saw Grass Mall in Ft. Lauderdale and I have gotten them in Bend, Oregon at a big savings.
