Cochem Hotel - calling annesherrod

Going to the Mosel in a couple of weeks. Anyone have any recommendations? Thinking of staying in Cochem.

ALTE THORNDECKE (sp) is a nice place in Cochem. Built into the city walls. Quaint. We stayed there in 1997. My spelling may be a little off, but worth looking for.

Hi PamUk,
sorry missed the post earlier. I posted a reply on another similar question that the Burg Hotel is a very fun and unique place to stay. it has panoramic views of the river and vinyards. The owners have an extensice antique collection that is something to behold.
I reccomend it and request a balcony with river view.

Make a side trip to Burg Eltz if you have a chance. It is about 18 mi north and a in tact medievil castle you should not miss.
Alte thorschenke is a romantic and popular hotel as well.
The town of Beilstein is another place in the Mosel region that is a medievil wine town. It is very close to Cochem.
Post a trip report I would love to hear about it! Have a great time.

Beilstein is a very quiet village not far from Cochem. Has it's own castle ruins, an interesting church, and a tour boat stop. Haus Hotel Lipmann is excellent with rooms overlooking the river and a great restaurant. No nightlife other than sipping wine and conversing with other folks watching the boat traffic and swans on the river.

For us, it was the perfect place to wind down after a long day of sightseeing up and down the river.
