Elvira, I imagine your publicity for Texas museums went over most people's heads, but it was indeed kind of you to note that there ARE some worth visiting, unlike a previous poster on another thread (a hint, dear readers, as to what E was referring to).

All we need now is some input from Al and Ruth, and Neal! If you ever want to confirm that Americans have great senses of humor and can laugh at themselves, read these Forums and/or the Letters to the Editor of Time and Newsweek. It's all so comforting!
Elvira told us to guess... it was obvious. Perhaps you feel it was unnecessary to state the obvious? Or, was that obvious, ooops did it again and stated the obvious, oh no I said it again -- where's Martha's snake when you need it?

Hey... maybe I'm the psychiatrist to Elvira's psychiatrist, wouldn't that be crazy? But, my port has no authority on Phoenix rising.

And Elsa, one must dig deep into the posts of yore to understand, lest you gain hostel notions and mid-evil thoughts.
Don't be too hard on Julie - all her posts are off the wall. If you read her posts in the forums, she's had bad experiences everywhere. Danger lurks! Traveler beware! I think most experienced travelers are aware of the dangers and differences in culture in other countries and adjust themselves accordingly.

What stands out it our memories is a good clue to our personalities; how we view averse situations is a good clue to our souls. When someone asks you "what advice have you got for me when I visit (name a city/country)?", what do you respond? Is it "oh you have just GOT to eat at (name a restaurant); the chicken tastes just like Loon!" or "watch out for pickpockets"? Hmmm...food (pun intended) for thought...

I doubt that many of you people who sit around (work, that is) adding stupid comments to what is supposed to be a TRAVEL forum have ever travelled..and the snide and rude additions are made mostly from jealousy. All travel isn't to London, and this is the place to "share" travel experiences and advice. Really, some of you are toooooooo much. Why don'tya go see a movie, or sell Girls scout cookies, go to the public library if all else fails. And if you wish, make a worthwhile contribution.

Yup, you discovered the deep dark secret of Fodors, Sandi. Most people here have never travelled. Martha, Elvira, Dan Woodlief, Brian from Atlanta, Lisa are actually talking out of their rear ends when dispensing what everyone actually believes to be valuable advice. In their imaginations they have constructed trips they believe they have taken. Really, Sandi, check the forums and and you will see that the people on this thread here are well travelled and are trying to have some fun. Get a clue and a sense of humor.

I can only supose that the traveller with no sense of humour is the one yelling at the ticket agent or complaining that things are better at home.
Either that or all the travel memories I have are really acid flashbacks and I haven't left the couch at all.
