clothing in November

My husband and I and two friends are going on a General Tour visiting Moscow and St Petersburg from November 7-14. Any suggestions on clothing, coats and boots? Half of the time we will be on escorted tours and the rest of the time on our own. Thanks.

Take warm clothing - first snow last year in Moscow was 27 Oct.

Second the first reply. It will be cold. Take clothing in layers. While I lived there, I was already wearing long underwear. Take good sturdy, warm and waterproof boots b/c if it snows, it will get slushy. Other than that have a great time! They're beautiful places. www.weatherbase.com for weather info.

thanks to everyone. I did get a long coat and gloves and will layer. Now I just need boots...thanks also for the weather from last November

The woman on Fox news a few minutes ago covering the Moscow-Chechen situation was wearing one of those typical Russian fur hats , and it appeared to be snowing. ??
