I t is near the old train station.. I think there is a new train station farther away. You are talking about the Cloitre St-Louis in Avignon?

Is it worth the price is a hard question to answer. HOw much is too much for you. Some of the rooms in the annex arex not good. Those overlooking the courtyard are better.

The hotel is near the old train station and bus station, if is convenient if you are traveling by public transportions.

The deco in rooms is quite modern-straight lines, black and white, spacious and comfortable. The restaruant meal was overpriced for the quality. I stayed there twice, both times paid less than 100 euro per night.

I have stayed there twice myself. There is an old part and a new part and again have stayed in both. New part was a little funky with the bath/shower located behind the bed. I guess you must see it to imagine what I am talking about. It is a Best Western affiliated property but you would never know it. They also have free, gated, parking- a real plus for us. I would have no problem recommending them as I would certainly stay there again. BTW, I never did eat there so I can't comment on the food.

My sister and I stayed there 3 years ago and liked it. We had originally booked 2 nights but decided to stay a 3rd. The only room they had available for the 3rd night was a room in the attic. It was under the eaves with the old beams visible. It had a round window that overlooked the courtyard. We liked it better than our first room, which is just as a previous poster described--reminded me of something from an old James Bond movie.

We stayed there a couple of years ago. At that time, it was part of the Choice Hotel chain.
The location was a real + as it was just inside the city walls from the train station. (I think the train from Paris may not stop there now.)
The public rooms were lovely - as was the courtyard.
The first night we were in the annex, which we didn't care for. Thereafter, we were in the old part (large room but no big deal).
I suspect you can do better but, sorry, am not familiar with other Avignon hotels.
