Anyone stayed here? Good day trips from Madrid??

Day trips: Segovia and Toledo.

Have not stayed at the hotel above. But try to avoid any hotel on the Gran Via, Paseo de Prado, Ronde Atocha, and Paseo de Santa Maria. They are all heavily trafficked.

Good day trips as noted above are Toledo and Segovia.

Being "heavily trafficked" is normal when you're in a very popular big city. Yes, the Grav Via is busy, it's the heart of the city, but the area, Paseo de Prado, Ronde Atocha, and Paseo de Santa Maria, and the Gran Via, are changing daily as the area is gentrified. The Four Seasons new flagship property, a 200-room boutique hotel in the Plaza Canalejas should be opening sometime in early 2019. Across the plaza will be the new Marriott Starwood W Hotel, with 160 rooms. While the Aloft, a luxury property with 139 rooms will be opening nearby on the capital’s Gran Vía. On Plaza de España, a new 5-star with 214 rooms has finally opened. All in all, more than 4000 new hotel rooms, all luxury properties in the center of the city. In two years you won't recognize the area, but that doesn't mean it won't be as crowded and busy as it is now, but some of the tacky stores will not longer be around. The rents will be too high, probably even for the Museum of Jamon.

Also, the 5-star Ritz closes at the end of this month and is scheduled to reopen at the end of 2019 as a 160 room luxury botique hotel after a nearly 100M€ renovation that's long overdue.

NH Paseo de Prado hotel was perfectly quiet.

Toledo is a good day trip.
