Cinque Terre Rooms

At the end of June / early July, is it really risky to go to any of the 5 towns and hope to find a room for 3 nights? Our first choice is Vernazza, but would also consider Monterosso.

Any thoughts?

We stayed for 3 days, 2 nights in Vernazza in mid-May. There were always several people meeting the trains to hawk their rooms though the train station had big warning signs to be aware of room scams and unauthorized accommodations.

You can walk down the main street and ask in all the little shops, most of them have rooms for rent. Most of the doors had "completo" signs on them (no vacancy) by mid-afternoon.

I think end June/early July might be risky. There are plenty of lovely places north and south of CT to stay
(Santa Margherita, Levanto, Portovenere, Rapallo.)

We are considering renting Apartmento Caterina through Araspaa. Has anyone had experience through this service or at this apartment? Thanks!

I would recommend booking a room in advance. We were there this year in mid May and there were tons of tourists already. I can only imagine the amount of people in June/July. We stayed at Seniora Franca's room with a separate entrance to a terrace that had a sea view for 80 Euro per night and we booked it in February.

My wife and I ended up renting Apartamento Arancia from Araspaa a few years ago, and they were great. The apartment was centrally located in Riomaggiore, and they waited for me at the train station to walk me to the apartment and to hand over the key. The apartment was clean and in great condition. If I was to go back again to Cinqueterre, I would definitely go thru the same service.

Sorry--I accidentally hit send too soon. If anyone has suggestions for Cinque Terre, and especially Vernazza, I would appreciate input. A friend and I will be going in mid-September. Martina-Grazie! Perhaps I will see you there!
