k_marie, try again. my posts are regularly moderated and often I can post a new comment on the same thread. Sometimes my posts disappear altogether. There was one poor OP who wanted to post something about Germany and I had been the only responder with quite an extensive reply. They 'disappeared' my post and there was no first response to that OP until about 2 weeks later, from someone entirely different and the OP's post had dropped off the radar. I have no idea why I am being moderated so frequently. Message is, persist, you will be heard eventually.

I may be late to the party here, but this is another vote for Strasbourg/the route des vins in Alsace. The towns are so charming and easy to get to if you have a car. You'd want to check whether the Christmas markets will be back in business, though. Good luck with you decision!
