STW, I will be staying very near the same area in April. I considered one of Mrs Green's flats and found her very nice to deal with. I am hoping you will include the names of any restaurants or pubs in the area which you recommend.
Now, back to tapping foot awaiting more .........

What did you feel the "meeter & greeter" did not tell you about the flat or was she/he just in a hurry to give you the keys and be off?
I like the way you are presenting your report, factual but lots of fun details. Thank you.
Sandy

STW injured her nose today, she posted about it in the Lounge, so she may not be posting about her trip here the rest of the day. STW can even make an injured nose report interesting though. I wish I had her writing ability.

Karen Green really is a great hostess. The bed I had in the studio I rented from her was the most comfortable I've ever had in London so the bad single bed your son had surprises me. She's sure got a lot of properties! Wish she'd adopt me.

I am so glad that you are enjoying my report! I have recovered from my nose injury and the bad headache it created and I am back for more.
SandyBrit, we were told that the "meeter and greeter" would show us the intricacies of the apartment. First off, the woman who was supposed to bring us the keys sent her husband in her place. It was clear, by the way he struggled with the keys in the door, that he had never been in the apartment before. He only flipped on the lights and that was it. Now we were able to read the directions for the television and could figure out the themostat, but the water heater was unfamiliar to us. Oh and the oven, that was an interesting experience. I dehydrated a few rolls before I figured out how to actually turn it on the correct way. So, yes, it was slightly less than we expected from the "meeter and greeter".
Carrybean, I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "great hostess". Karen has beautiful properties with outstanding taste, that is true. The flat is extremely clean and well taken care of. However, the refridgerator/freezer and pantry should be completely emptied prior to new guests arriving. That was the only real gripe I had with the flat. The freezer was packed full and iced over. Not that I needed the freezer, but it did not please me. So, that's the negative of the flat. Perhaps something that Karen is not aware of, if she hasn't been there in a while. I might just send her a note.

What I meant was that even though I rented her place through an agency she called me to make sure all was well & that I was enjoying the place. The flat I rented was perfect, the bed was comfy, the sheets/towels were good quality & the refrigerator was immaculate as was the rest of the place. The only remnants in the kitchen were salt, pepper, etc.
Considering some of the stories posted here about bad landlords your comments sort of validate my point:
Karen was extremely helpful and answered many questions, both by email and telephone. You can easily reach her on her mobile phone and she has no problem calling the states.
Anyway, glad you're feeling better & I can't wait for the rest of your report!
