CHI to Heathrow in June, best price?

Hi all,
I'm heading back to London in mid June from Chicago. As a student, I am looking for the best rate possible. Any suggestions, or price history at this time?
Thank you very much!

Airline fares history is based on many different variables.
1.economy
2.fuel prices
3.war/terrorism fears
4.airlines financial situation
5.capacity
6.competition
etc......

Chicago to London in June ranged from as low as $350 couple of years ago to as high as $1000 at other times.
I would say this year it will be towards the higher end. Are there deals? always, but they will be harder to find this year.

You just missed an outstanding AirCanada sale which would get you to London for around $450 R/T with fees and taxes included.

Keep you eyes and ears open and maybe there will be another sale, but then again, maybe not.

If you are a student, check-out your school's student organizations. They usually have special student fares.

There is a Student Travel Organization on the internet, I just don't know the address. Do a search. It may save you some serious $.

Student travel website is:
http://www.statravel.com/statravel/default.aspx

The big advantage that STA has is more flexibility in return dates and sometimes better arrangements for changes (lower penalties). My daughter uses STA routinely because of this.

Other options which I have used Cheaptickets.com Flights.com The price leader lately has been the Air India flights posted on many sites. Neber used them, but they always are at the top of the price list.
Remember to verify that taxes and fees are in your calculations on 'best rate' - this adds over $100 to the costs as compared to the base fares.

We just booked late May flights using cheaptickets for AA flights - around $550 including fees. There were other cheaper options but getting direct flights (7-8 hours) was a priority rather than 11-12 hours with changes elsewhere.

My advice is against Air India. They have a history ofbad customer service and cancelled flights leaving folks stranded, at least at JFK.

Thanks for the info on Air India, I'll look elsewhere.
