Chelsea Flower Show 2004 attendance
I am planning a trip in May to the 2004 Chelsea Flower Show. I noticed on the RHS website where members can tour the show on special member days and get discounted tickets.
Are these member only days a lot less crowded than the public days?

If my experience in 2000 is any indication, I'd think that the Members Only days would be less crowded. Because of our timing in London, we opted for the Open days--bought our tickets through a company called "firstcall" in February. Until all the RHS members, who want them, have booked tickets, I don't believe that they release tickets to other venues to sell. However, if you are going on a "garden tour" trip, a number of them include the Flower Show--and I believe I remember some which stated "on Members Only" days. MHM

member days are crowded - but a LOT less crowded than the public days. Sometimes the last day of Chelsea is so crowded you can barely move. The new larger marquees help a little - but if you join the RHS you will have a nicer visit.
Of course - the weather can also have an effect on attendance . . . . .

In regard to the weather : We were in London for a week--with fairly clear days--except the day for the Flower Show visit. It poured--not only rain, but crowds of people! However, that was part of the experience, because we were not the only ones drenched. There was some "brightening between showers" but that came later in the day. It was fun and interesting anyway. mhm
