December of this year, 2006? If so, you are very late for Christmas week. I wouldn't know how to advise you except to tell you to try several booking sites, such as venere.com, ratestogo.com and laterooms.com.

If you are talking about 2007, then you have some choices. You could begin by searching hotels in each of the cities on this forum.

Are you interested in staying in Pisa AND Florence? They are quite close to one another--an hour by train--so you could choose to stay in one and daytrip to the other.

My wife and I stayed at the Hotel Amalfitana (http://www.dormireintoscana.it/Amalfitana/enindex.htm) in Pisa on the recommendation of a friend from Pisa back in 2003 and thought it was perfectly acceptable. According to their website, their currently charging EUR 70 for a double.

we stayed at the A Teatro B&B in Florence last Christmas and I think spent 113E for a triple. I don't know what a double would be but I'm sure it would be less and in your budget. In Pisa we stayed at the Hotel Duomo and I think it was in the 90's for a triple. I hope this helps.

Hi N,

In Florence, I can highly recommend the B&B Peterson.

We stayed at the b&b NinaNanna in Florence, and loved it. About 4 blocks north of the Duomo, with a private back yard. About $70 euros with a private bath and a small breakfast.
In Venice, the Galleria is hard to beat for the price, right on the Grand Canal.
