A birreria-pizzeria we visited twice for the atmosphere and food was near the Colosseum off Via Cavour and Via Dei Fori Imperiali.

It's name is alle Carrette at 14 Vicolo delle Carrette. It also has seating in a small outside courtyard. The business card I have says it's opened daily from 19:00 to 24:00

My husband and I stayed at the Nicolas Inn and it was one of their recommendations. Deborah

We enjoyed Perilli on Via Marmoratta. Great place for lunch following the Aventine Hill walk. Waiters speak no English and menu is very Roman. Wonderful food and we were the only tourists there. It will always be on our list for a lunch on every trip to rome.

During our recent trip in April we had a wonderful meal at Orsa 80. The three of us started by sharing the antipasto.
I could order this again for myself with a bottle of wine and call a meal.
We ate out every day and Orsa 80 was the best of what we tried.

On the other end of the spectrum I was very unhappy with the quality of every course at the Ostria del Angelo. After seeing it listed in the chat room so often I was surprised that it could be as bad as it was. Too many good restaurants in Rome to bother stopping here.

Brillo de Gallo is on the next corner and is a new place we enjoyed very much. Not expensive and they were eager to please.

Ciacio n Peppe'(sp?) This place was fun and cheap.Close to the places list above. Most seating is outside, the food is simple and good. House wine is OK
