Cheap Airfare to London from US
Is this possible this time of year. My husband has a business trip the last week of June, so we wanted to find a sitter and make a mini-vacation out of it.
Is it possible to find decent airfare to London from Richmond, Norfolk, or Washington DC.
Thanks
Amy

Try American Airlines (aa.com). As recently as 2 weeks ago, it was $483 per person (including all taxes and fees) for our trip (end of May to mid-June) from Boston.
Otherwise, just keep checking every site that's listed here on fodor's. Someone did a great list fairly recently.

Oops, one more question. What is the best airport to fly into London? Somebody mentioned Manchester. How far is that?
I just checked AA and the fare was $1556. Ugh.
Thank you again.

Manchester is nearly 200 miles away so don't fly there if your intention is to visit London.
Either Gatwick (LGW) or Heathrow (LHR) are fine for London. In most airline searches, for London I type "LON" and that's the code that searches all London airports.
I think only Maxjet fly to London Stansted (STN) from the US (from Dulles and they're a all-business class airline but with some good rates).

Hi AE,
Also try www.mobissimo.com.
Also look for flights out of BWI.
Mobissimo has BWI/LHR via ORD for $884, from DCA via JFK it is $875.

Amy,
Are your dates flexible? If not, what are your exact departure/return dates?
Generally speaking, prices start climbing about 3 months out and only get higher the closer to the departure date. Last minute deals on trans-atlantic flights are rare at best.
You can still get there fopr less than $900. Again, exact dates would help.
