Chatelet metro stop

I am taking the metro from Gare Nord to the Chatelet Metro stop, it is the closest stop to my hotel. I am confused, though, by the connection with les halles. Does the train stop at les halles, and then again at chatelet? Or do I have to get off at les halles? I do not want to get lost in the large connecting area of les halles! If it is just one stop I am considering continuing on to the cite stop and walking back above ground.

Please tell the name of your hotel, maybe that will allow someone to give specific advice.

It shouldn't be a problem. Just don't get off at les halles. Chatelet is the next stop and it's clearly marked.

Metro line 4 stops both at Les Halles and Chatalet. RER Rail Lines b and d stop at Les Halles only. The Connecting area is only a problem if you wanted to go from this Line 4 to a RER train, and even then, some people think it's a problem, others enjoy the challenge.
