charming accommodation in Berner Oberland
We want to stay at Lake Thun or Lauterbrunnen or anywhere around that area. We will have a car so it doesn't matter much. Would prefer a self catering chalet with 2 bedrooms (4 adults) with a wonderful view - or a nice inn rather than a hotel.
I would also appreciate good websites for accommodation too - I don't seem to be finding it easy in Switzerland.
Many thanks. Sally

Here's a site that I rented a 1 bedroom Chalet in Grindelwald. Lots of places to chose from. Good luck.

I am not so sure on the charming angle, but for convenience and all, I return to Chalet Horner in Lauterbrunnen.
You will have a place to park your car near the entrance. The apartment known as the Studio is my favorite.
Email Teresa Stäger at the following address for details.

In the high season, she may restrict you to a minimum period of time. I always rent by the week.
She has one flat with two bedrooms and two more flats than can be connected with a common door.
I enjoy shopping for food like I lived there. We visit the green grocers, the dairy store, the bakery, and the meat market. If you have a car, there is a super market in Interlaken near Interlaken Ost train station.
The apartments are 5 minutes easy walking from the train station which leads to higher places like Wengen, Kleine Scheidegg, and the Jungfraujoch.
You have a balcony as well with a view of the Jungfrau.

I just noticed that the email address for Teresa did not copy correctly.
It is [email protected]
The t for some reason was elided in the transfer. I am sure it was me who did it.
At any rate, we have rented from Teresa several times. She is more flexible on dates than most of the other apartment renters.

You did not give a budget, so I will just give general reccos. I think that Karen Brown's website always lists very interesting and charming small hotels and B&B's. She has suggested itineraries. You can buy the books and find a wealth of other information on her website: karenbrown.com
