Central Stockholm Hotel

I will have a day and a half in Stockholm before I board the Viking to Finland. A friend told me to stay at the Cyrstal Plaza. Does anyone have other suggestions. I want to be able to see as much as I can with out being out of the way.

Try the Gamla Stan. It is in a central location, 51 rooms at about $200 per night.

We stayed at the Grand - great location and views - and they frequently have good discounts available since its a fairly large hotel.

TBJ: We really enjoyed the attractively furnished, centrally located Gamla Stan. 51 rooms in a 17th century building.

We recently stayed at the First Hotel Reisen in Gamla Stan. It was a lovely hotel with friendly staff. Our room had a view of the water. I'd recommend it.

My wife and I also stayed at this hotel a couple of years ago, and enjoyed it very much......It is centrally located, clean, and not terribly expensive. We had 2 rooms there, one of which had a nice water view and the other had a balcony overlooking the Gamla Stan...I think only the 5th floor rooms have them.

Well worth it IMHO. Best wishes for a great trip! Dave
