I remain mindful of your statement: "We want to stay in a nice clean hotel near the airport" and I am sure if you wanted alternatives you would have ASKED for those.
Maybe, but just maybe they think they "have" to because it is so early to depart. That is one reason I asked WHERE they are coming from (maybe Paris!!)--and to look at Stu's ideas. Personally I LOVE leaving from Paris, even early in the morning, if I can. It isn't difficult.
AND I would always have the hotel arrange for the taxi--but I'd also be ready early (as in the cab coming early--that meter IS running).

Reviewing this thread for a forthcoming trip. I love the CitizenM hotel at CDG but it is fully booked for our October date, rats. So looking at an Ibis Styles and trying to sort out which Ibis it is. (We will be flying in from Naples so no good going into Paris just for dinner.)

Fuzzy,
So Ibis Styles CDG Airport Roissy Hotel
or
ibis Styles Paris Roissy CDG Hotel
No wonder I was confused! I currently have a Hotels.com reservation at the first one -- any thoughts? Mostly I want good location. But thanks for the links; I will review them (we will be flying AF to SFO).

Be careful -- there are lots of the same chain hotels that vary in great distance from actual terminals. I found out the hard way...
Booked -
Suite Novotel Paris Roissy CDG
and it was at the farthest away from possible. A 45 minute bus ride.

Bummer, Deb! That's why I am bird-dogging this. I had a hotel at Heathrow that advertised taking a little auto pod into the terminal. But I had to transfer to a way different terminal, so even the ones billed as in the airport have issues.
The map shows the one I'm currently reserved in as being adjacent to Terminal 3, as in, technically IN it. Of course, we are leaving from T2 I am pretty sure.

There have been flat fees for taxi runs from both airports for about a year, now.
50 or 55 EU for CDG and 30 to 35 EU for ORY depending on whether you go to the Right or Left Bank, no charge for luggage.
annw - if you are departing from Terminal 2E - Hall L, you can go to the Yotel, which has everything you need, or choose one of the other hotels, which says "steps to...Terminal 3".
If I were concerned about timing, I'd just take a taxi, and not a "navette" or other shuttle.

Just to add another Ibis, we spent a night before an early departure from CDG at an Ibis in one of the terminals:

We have stayed in many Ibis hotels now and this one was just what we have come to expect -- A small clean room with a comfortable bed at a reasonable price.

Thanks, Fuzz; I just tried again at CitizenM at CDG and can now reserve, so I cancelled my Ibis reservation.
I've walked to it from CDG before so am confident in its location (though I have to cross an airport road to get to it).
