Travellers arriving later than 23.00 hrs at Paris' Charles de Gaulle Airport will find most bus and train services stop around that hour. Thus we reserved with Parishuttle to collect us and take us to our Paris hotel. Our flight was scheduled to arrive at 22.50 hrs but arrived 40 minutes late and Parishuttle's driver was not there. Upon phoning their office Parishuttle said simply: we have no car there, so we can't help you. That left us at midnight at the airport, in freezing weather, long queue for taxis, to finally arrive at 2 o'clock in the night at the hotel. Parishuttle alleges that they will wait up to 45 minutes (which they did not) and deny any responsibility. We still think the shuttle service is the best way to get from CDG to the city and viceversa, door to door, for about 15 euros per person, but do select your shuttle service carefully. We had good experiences with Airport New Shuttle.

Don't believe I have ever seen that low a cost for the shuttle. For two people the quoted prices are usually close to a "wash" for a taxi. Just curious.

We generally pay 17-18 E pp for a shutlle from CDG into the city.

We have found cabs cost 45-55 E.

I'm sorry to hear of your experience with Paris Shuttle. I must say a few words in defence of them though. We used them to get from the hotel to the airport. We shared with another lady and her daughter. When we took off our driver received a call from the hotel the other passengers had stayed requesting them to return to the hotel to sort out a "misunderstanding". The mother complained all the way there. When we finally arrived it turned out the hotel staff had found that the stupid woman had left her camera behind and kindly rang the driver to inform him of this. I say stupid because she did not have the decency to thank the hotel staff and the driver. "Why didn't they say so in the first place" she protested. On arrival at CDG she also lacked the decency to apologise for delaying us. I felt very sorry for the driver who remained a perfect gentleman throughout. In terms of our costs - Taxi from CDG to hotel was 60E while Paris Shuttle was 38E for two. Also was punctual in picking us up. We will definitely use them again.

I ususally pay about 7 euro for the RER, take the express and I'm in the city in about 30 minutes.

Thank you for sharing your first post here, I would like to hear something about your trip other than a plug for Airport New Shuttle. Where did you stay? What did you see? Did you enjoy your trip?

After a 10+ hour flight like ours, we prefer to take a taxi rather than the RER. The queues are not always long and they move quickly. We didn't have a good experience with taking a shuttle in the past.

I'm so sorry this happened to you. In Parishuttle's defense, though, we had a very nice experience with them last month. We had scheduled for them to pick us up at about 7:30 a.m. when our plane was due to arrive. Unfortunately, due to mechanical problems, etc., we didn't get into Paris until 6:00 p.m. that night. We called Parishuttle and they were very gracious about picking us up even though we missed our reservation time, and the driver was waiting for us by the time we made it outside.

This is what I based my statement on that for two, and particularly more than 2, a taxi is about the same cost.
Were there discounts in any of these other fares?

If anyone is worried about missing a return flight, I just don't understand why bother with taking a shuttle. There are alot of stories about shuttle drivers not showing up or showing up very late. The rates they charge aren't that much different from taking a taxi. As to taxi drivers being late or not showing up at all, I've read about that happening probably once only. The taxis I had the hotel reserve always showed up either on time or a few minutes earlier than scheduled.

Our experiences with Paris Shuttle on Oct. 27 and Nov. 10 (both ways from CDG) were excellent -- on time, helpful, careful. Cost: about 39 E each way for two passengers & two suitcases. Exactly as advertised.

Actually, I'm surprised they promise to wait 45 minutes. I had a personal limo reserved once, but my flight was at least an hour late, so the guy left (I didn't have to pay for it, which I thought was pretty good since there was a trip out there). I didn't expect him to wait for me.

I'm just surprised you had a long wait for a taxi, especially at that hour (maybe because no public transportation?). I've taken a taken from CDG around 11 pm+ and did not have a long wait. I've never had a long wait for a taxi at CDG. Exactly how long did you wait?

I don't see how Parishuttle can have any "responsibility" for the fact that you were late, so they left. If your plane was 40 minutes late, you are quibbling over a couple minutes that they supposedly did not wait versus when you could have possibly met them.

I used Bluvan and on their website if you pre-book it is 29E for two each way. WE were about 30 minutes late into CDG and they did not wait. But, upon calling they sent a van in about 15 minutes (mid-day). On the return, we had a serious problem however. They left one of my bags sitting on the curb outside my hotel. It was my "important" small bag with my passport in it. I learned a big lesson to always watch my bags being put on a shuttle before boarding. I assume it must have been on the other side of a large piece of luggage and he did not see it. Luckily, someone brought it into the hotel from the street. After tracking down the bag by phone, we had the bag put on a taxi. We paid the taxi 40E which we had to come up with at the airport in a panic. WE actually made our flight with the help of the airport staff rushing us through. Bluvan did not offer even partial refund for the shuttle or help to pay for the taxi even though they knew it was mostly their fault. Would I use them again? Maybe. You can't judge a company based on one situation. The guy driving was probably embarrassed as it was and was trying to keep himself out of trouble. I have really learned in travel not to pass judgement too quickly. I could probably use Bluvan again with no problem at all!
