Casino Dress

For women, is the proper attire a dress or can she wear pants? also I was told that sandals are not appropriate. Does that mean the flip flop type ? I assume dressy sandals are ok?

It might help if you stated which casino you are talking about, I'm assuming the one in Monaco.

There are 2 casinos in Monaco. The European one (where you have to pay to get in) is very dressy. I believe the American one is less so, but I've not been.

If you are a man, you can't enter the Grand Casino without a coat and tie. For women, it is really not clear what attire would not allow you to gain entry. You definitely can't wear shorts. I would think that sandals would be allowed, depending on what they looked like. The flip-flop type would not be allowed. You can go to the casino next to the Grand Casino in almost any attire. You just can't carry in a knapsack with you, but must check it at the door. The will see the richest people in the world in the area around the Grand Casino and Hotel de Paris. You will feel like a country bumpkin if you are not dressed accordingly, and you will die of shame.
