philip - - no kids here but I found this thread with suggestions:

I'd take them to most any cafe or brasserie, especially places with plenty of seating. Would probably avoid more 'fancy' and smaller restaurants.
You didn't say how old are your children, so I'm assuming they're younger than 'teens'.

If I am traveling with twin 18 year olds who will be 19 during our stay, do I need to buy adult tickets for them? How stringent are people in checking exact birthdates? YOu all are so full of information, I appreciate your help.

Hi all, despite all the threads on this I still see conflicting info on where the Navigo Decouverte can be purchased. I do not want to purchase it at CDG, but rather in Paris somewhere. Can this be bought at any Metro station, or only certain ones? Or only big ones like Gare du Nord?

It can be bought at any metro/rer station that still has a ticket window as well as the SNCF stations such as Gare du Nord. The problem is a lot of the Paris metro stations have gone to only automated machines. If you pick one of the larger stations you should still be fine.
