Carte d'Orange, Paris
For once, my timing is perfect to buy a Monday-to-Sunday Carte d'Orange in Paris. If I arrive in Paris on a Sunday, can I buy one of these 7-day Metro/bus passes on Sunday but have it dated the following day? Or do I have to wait until Monday morning to buy it?

oh, it's still available - used one this April and plenty of trip reports and posts indicate they're still available. we'll ALL know when the first TA member goes to buy one and is told they are discontinued - we'll hear the wailing all the way back to the States!

We (that's the Royal "we"
are indebted to you, Travelnut. You've bailed me out before other trips and will no doubt do so again. This time I'm dithering over a fall trip to Paris and Venice, with side road trip into Slovenia.

I can always find things to dither about. Details, always the details. I will relax only when the plane wheels leave the ground and I know it's out of my hands. Still, I'm used to it and I'm looking forward to another good trip.

No, you cannot buy the CO in the US. It is actually a discount ticket for Paris residents that tourists have glommed onto.
And as a side note, do not buy ANY pass or such on the internet before arriving in Paris--unless you just love to spend 30% more.

It used to be possible to buy a Paris Visite card at the RATP Boutique at JFK. For those wishing to see Paris on a layover where the airport transfers take place on the same day, a one-day 5-zone PV is a good investment. It saves queuing time at CDG and pays for all transport to and within Paris.
I don't know if the boutique is still in operation. ratp.info is mum on the subject.
