I've bee using Local Rent-a-Car (providing www since there is more then 1 with same or similar name in Warsaw)
http://www.rent-a-car.com.pl/
for some time now - always have been satisfied (although last time had to do more then 1 email to get correct price).
I've used their cash option to get discount which in turn I used to buy their insurance. When using Cash option they still get you Credit Card Info. which at the begining made me bit uneasy - but after few years using this company I no longer have a problem with that.

I also exchanged few emails with RentUp (www.rentup.pl)- but at that time the exact car I wanted was cheaper at Local Rent-a-Car.

But yes both are legit - and have very good prices.

If you plan to use your rental car only in the city, I would advice against it. Warsaw traffic is pretty scary, parking is a nightmare and the locals think traffic signs & regulations are something for the naive. Public transport is cheap and will bring you anywhere in the city.

Local Rent-a-car will provide you with free latest Warsaw and Poland maps which are really good and detailed. If you picking up car in airport your drive should be just fine - since there is only one road leading out of the airport (Zwirki Wigury street) - make sure you do put on your belt and drive within speed limit on this section (since there is almost always a radar trap on that road). Your first intersaction (Circle) will be Pilots Place (with Pilot holding a wing manument in middle) no turns just pass the circle and go streight - then your second major turn you will turn right and follow signs for Terespol/Siedlce/Pulawy (possibly also displaying Lublin but not sure). then just go streight - at some point you will take a bridge and pass Wisla River. Follow signs for Terespol/Siedlce (once you reach Bronislawa Czecha Street (Route#2) when leaving Warsaw watch for exit (split) for Lublin (Route #17)...
If you do get confused in Warsaw then just look for large Palace Of Culture Building and large hotels which are in center or follow signs for Center - then you need to remember to cross using one of the bridges to the other side of Wisla and turn right and keeping to major roads which at some point will have signs... Returning to Airport maybe bit more confusing, but it's my understanding that comming from south there are many signs for airport once you reach Warsaw (so give you self some extra time to when driving to Airport).
Lublin is close to Zamosc - which you also may want to visit (www.zamosc.pl).
Also South of Lublin/Zamosc (about 30km wast on route 98 from Jaroslaw) there is a very nice Palace in Lancut (www.polmoslancut.com.pl/eng/city.htm)... In Lancut you can stay in the castle or this place (Little Palace) which is right next to the castle (www.palacyk.lancut.pl)
Route 98 West from Lancut will take you to Zakopane ... Enjoy ...
